Ava Selmon-Green
Ava started her hair career about 7 years ago when she was laid off from her corporate job. At that point, she knew that she would never allow another employer to leave her unable to provide for herself.
She enrolled in natural hair school and quickly discovered an old technique that she wanted to make new! Crochet braids from the "good ol' days" did not offer much style or versatility but they did offer a lightweight, protective styling option. With new varieties of hair textures, she set out to put this old technique back on the map! She worked on the technique and tried out hundreds of textures in order to be able to recommend the best options for her clients.
Now, this stylish look is seen everywhere!
She has styled over 2000 clients and has spent endless hours educating herself on best business practices, client service, hair education and new trends in the hair industry.
She is ready to share what she has learned and help the next wave of aspiring stylists take some of the trial and error out of their hair career. Ava has embraced her journey of becoming The Crochet Queen and seeks to leave her mark in the world of hair.
